Hi! My name is Amolak Ratan Kalra. I am a graduate student at the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) in the University of Waterloo. My advisor is Prof. Michele Mosca.

My broad area of research is quantum information and I work at the cross-roads of quantum information, mathematics and theoretical physics.

I am particularly interested in synthesis and arithmetic of quantum circuits, error correcting codes, quantum information theory and the mathematical foundations of quantum computation.

Some phrases and words that capture the spirit of my research program are "Physical Mathematics", "Foundations of Quantum Information" and the slogan "(Quantum) Information is Physical." A lot of my work is driven by studying concrete examples and calculations.

I have collaborated with: Jon Yard, Graeme Smith, Avantika Agarwal, Debbie Leung, Luke Schaeffer, Cihan Okay, Robin Cockett, Priyaa Srinivasan, Shiroman Prakash, Sanchit Srivastava, Selman Ipek, Mark Deaconu, Pulkit Sinha and Nihar Gargava.

If you are interested in working or collaborating with me please feel free to reach out at: arkalra@uwaterloo.ca
